Upcycled Old Tire Into A Sandpit

Upcycled Old Tire Into A Sandpit

Here is an excellent idea that upcycles a large tractor tire into a children’s sandpit. I think it’s pretty creative too!

While there is no tutorial for the idea, I think we can pretty much see what the process would be.

  • It looks like they have used a pool noodle to line the inside rim of the tire, giving it a little padding for the little ones.
  • For the paint, since you are covering rubber, you will want to use an epoxy or oil based paint to ensure it doesn’t flake away.
  • An umbrella has been added for shade, but depending on the size of your tire, you may want to omit this. You can always put the sandpit under a beach canopy if you are unable to find shade in your yard.
  • Finally, add sand!

I am pretty sure you will have no trouble grabbing one of these tires free. It saves someone from having to dispose of it the hard way.
