Here is a look that is becoming more and more popular in the “shabby chic” niche – fabric toile, aka fabric wallpaper. Typically toile is applied to a piece of furniture with a paste such as Mod Podge, not only gluing it to the surface, but adding a nice gleaming surface over top.
In this tutorial, Hayley from Welcome to the Mouse House shows us how to make fabric wallpaper inserts, with a homemade paste. The benefit of using this paste is that the fabric can be pealed away easily, the piece wiped down and re-pasted with a new piece of fabric. If you ever get tired of your existing look, or want to match it to a changed decor, you can easily do so with no surface damage. Enjoy!
