I just love used spools turned into bookcases and coffee/end tables. They are a fabulous unique piece of furniture and have become crazy popular. The problem for me has been in order to build a spool bookcase, I need to snag a spool to start with! KariAnne from Thistlewood Farms could not have described my exact response any better.
Her post and tutorial on how to build a spool bookcase is absolutely hilarious. She of course walks you through the process she used to complete the project, but she also details the exact conversation she had at her local home improvement store aisle. I can almost hear myself speaking the exact words 🙂 So definitely check out her post and tutorial. Only changes I would make for this project is to use wooden dowels instead of pipe and I would stain it walnut to match my favorite room. Get creative – add your own style!
