Easy Diaper Cake

If you have an upcoming baby shower and are struggling to find something unique to purchase for the little one, why not consider a diapers? Yes. Diapers. Think about it if you will. New moms are gifted a ton of clothing and toiletries they will likely never use, or use only a handful of times. Babies grow SO fast and rarely wear fancy outfits more than 2-3 times before they no longer fit! And seriously, how many bottles of baby powder, bath cloths, nail clippers or snot suckers does any mom really need?

But all babies need diapers! And lots of them. This Diaper Cake tutorial will not only help you give a new mom exactly what she needs, but will make your gift the talk of the party! Here is a tip though to consider. Skip the “Newborn” size of diapers and just use sizes 1 or 2. The newborn size is only for up to 8 pounds and if baby ends up being a decent weight at birth, mom isn’t likely going to be able to use them. I would also tailor the ribbons on the cake to the sex of the baby (if known) or go with a neutral greens and yellows.
