If you’ve had some dental issues in the past, or are concerned about general oral care without a tremendous expense, you may want to consider a very strange technique called oil pulling. It seems gross at first, but its actually an ancient form of oral care that has been sweeping North America with claims of benefits above and beyond your teeth! These include clearing up infections, headaches, skin conditions, liver problems, arthritis, allergies, asthma and much more.
So what is oil pulling? It’s the act of swishing coconut oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes, and then spitting it out. Yes, 20 minutes! I decided to try this yesterday before posting this out and while swishing around in there for that length of time is not easy, it’s pretty freaky how awesome my mouth felt after.
I’ve decided to continue trying this and see what long term benefits of oil pulling I can “pull” out 🙂 I think the trick here is to keep occupied for the 20 minutes so you’re not thing about holding the oil in your mouth. I will definitely keep you posted and would love to see some feedback in the comments section below from others who have tried this natural remedy.
